Honduras is a Contracting State to the ICSID Convention:

  • Signature: 28 May 1986
  • Deposit of Ratification: 14 February 1989
  • Entry into Force: 16 March 1989
  • Pursuant to Article 69 of the ICSID Convention, Honduras enacted Decreto No. 41-88 (Off. Gaz. August 4, 1988) to make the Convention effective in their jurisdiction.

In 2000, Honduras enacted legislation based on the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration as adopted in 1985 and is therefore now popularly considered to be an UNCITRAL Model Law State
